Sightseeing With Sarah, May 24th-May 26th, 2014
On Saturday, May 24th, 2014, my sister Sarah and I embarked on a driving tour of Arizona. Although not a "camping trip", per se, it was still quite a journey through some of the most interesting, and scenic, parts of the state. Here's the photos:

Postcard from the Petrified Forest, Arizona.
Petrified wood was once the trunks of trees, millions of years ago, that fell into the swampy marshlands near the equator (before the continent drifted northward to its present-day location). These waterlogged trees absorbed the dissolved minerals from the waterlogged sediment. And under tons of pressure, these tree trunks, quite literally, turned into (very colorful) stone. On Memorial Day, Sarah and I went in to central Phoenix on an "inner city driving and walking tour", which took us all over town- notably, over to Roosevelt Row (ie, the Roosevelt Street arts district, near Roosevelt and 5th Street) to check out the street art. I always love documenting murals and graffiti, as you can see below:
